Google is building infrastructure designed to run billions of autonomous agent workloads. At the same time, researchers are warning that human oversight becomes harder as autonomy increases, while new model architectures like Jev’s are adding specialised decision layers inside agents themselves. Google AX · AI Agents Push Humans Out of the Loop · LangChain on Jev
What we call “an agent” is starting to look less like a single intelligence and more like an architecture of intelligences; reasoning, routing, classifying, governing and acting at different speeds.
That creates a new AX problem: how do you make all of that observable without making it overwhelming?
The answer may not be keeping humans in every loop, but designing systems that know which loops need us, which don’t, and why.
